When it all started…

Hi, I’m Ryan Lewis, a former firefighter, electrician and blacksmith who makes custom knives sheaths, holsters, and weight kits. I started my blacksmithing career back in 2004 from my garage in Elk Mountain, WY. Throughout the years I taught myself the trade and became obsessed with perfecting my craft and learning new skills. Check out my gallery, where you will see some of my early creations.

Overtime, my skill and passion for knife making has transformed into a business, Forged True Smithing LLC. In 2016, I was invited on the History Channel show Forged in Fire. Yes, I was actually on the show and no I did not win. You can find me on Season 3 Episode 6.

I now live in Laramie, WY with my beautiful wife and our four children. Aside from making knives I enjoy many other hobbies such as hunting, spear fishing, diving, competitive shooting and flying. I bet you are wondering about the picture and why I’m wearing a fighter pilot suit? Well, I had the pleasure of riding in and flying a Extra 330 plane in aerobatic maneuvers! It was rated to 10gs and we pulled 8 during my flight.
